Sweco has signed an agreement to acquire the Swedish technology consulting company Swedish Net Engineering AB. With the acquisition, Sweco strengthens its leading position in protection and security.
Sweden’s changed threat picture and security protection legislation that came into force on 1 December last year contribute to increased demands on social security for both public and private players.
– As globalization, digitalisation and climate change increase, society’s vulnerability grows, and we see an increased need for protection against everything from illegal intrusions to preparedness for extreme weather. For us at Sweco, security and safety are an important part of sustainable community building. With the acquisition of Swedish Net Engineering, we further strengthen our position, says Ann-Louise Lökholm Klasson, CEO of Sweco Sweden.
Swedish Net Engineering has 28 employees and customer assignments throughout Sweden. The company specializes in security consulting, technical protection, and system installations. It is in technical protection that the competence complements Sweco’s offering.
– The need for our services is growing every day. It is no longer just about the military defence. Even socially important activities such as authorities, municipalities and parts of the private sector take security issues very seriously. Protecting socially important businesses is important and the potential is enormous, says Tomas Holmgren, Division Manager Buildings, Sweco Sweden.
– Joining forces with Sweco is a natural and important step for our employees and customers. It is positive that our customers now receive part of Sweco’s broad offering and overall commitment, says Markus Selme, Chairman of the Board, Swedish Net Engineering.
With the acquisition, the Protection & Security business unit, within the Buildings division, will be expanded to approximately 130 consultants.
