IMAP advised the shareholders of Walter Potthoff GmbH (“Walter Potthoff”, the “Company”), a manufacturer of high-end plastic components and systems, on the strategic partnership with the Belgian Plastiflex Group (“Plastiflex”, the “Group”). Plastiflex has been a portfolio company of IK Investment Partners (IK) since 2021 and is a global leader in the manufacturing of extruded spiral tubing and hose systems for medical and industrial applications.

Through the acquisition, Plastiflex adds expertise in high-end plastic injection molding, especially for medical technology to its own production portfolio. In addition to synergies from a strong alliance, Walter Potthoff will benefit from a global production network of eight manufacturing facilities with clean room manufacturing capacity for supplying its customers worldwide. Walter Potthoff’s manufacturing facility in Kierspe will become the European healthcare manufacturing hub for the Plastiflex Group and will also be the global center of excellence for injection molding.

Norman Sack, the current Shareholder and Managing Director of Walter Potthoff will continue in his roll and has also re-invested in the Plastiflex Group where he will also assume additional responsibilities.

Walter Potthoff GmbH has been a high-performance system supplier and a development partner for plastic solutions in medical technology and industrial applications for over 50 years. In medical technology, Walter Potthoff supplies customized components and systems for dialysis, parenteral nutrition, oncology, diagnostics, and the life sciences segments. In the industrial sector, the Company focuses on technically sophisticated components for electrical and electronical applications as well as chemical-resistant components. The Company is located in Kierspe, Nord Rhine-Westphalia, and employs around 100 people.

Since its foundation in 1953, Plastiflex Group NV has become the world’s leading supplier of customized hose systems for customers in the medical and industrial technology sectors. The Group is globally active and employs more than 1,000 people across its seven international production sites and other subsidiaries.
